Basketball Recap: Templeton Takes a Loss

Templeton lost against Rio Americano back in December of 2021 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Templeton Eagles took a blow against the Rio Americano Raiders, falling 80-40. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 788th, while the Raiders are ranked 202nd).

Ian Engh was his usual excellent self, going 7 for 14 on his way to 19 points and three steals for Rio Americano. Dylan Johnson was another key player, putting up eight points and three steals.

Templeton now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Rio Americano, their record is now 6-2.

Templeton wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 70-57 loss against Oakdale on the 14th. As for Rio Americano, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 61-34 win against Stevenson on the 14th.
