Moses Lake had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They came out on top against the Walla Walla Blue Devils by a score of 9-5 on Thursday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Mavericks as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Paige Richardson made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over 5.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. Richardson was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Moses Lake let Addi Reffett and Hayden Morris run wild. Reffett scored a run while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances, while Morris scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Samantha Kling was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.
