Soccer Game Preview: Merritt Island vs. Sebastian River

The Merritt Island Mustangs will challenge the Sebastian River Sharks at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Merritt Island barely beat Eau Gallie the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Mustangs never let the Commodores get on the board and left with a 4-0 win two weeks ago. The victory continues a trend for Merritt Island in their matchups with Eau Gallie: they've now won four in a row.

Merritt Island hit Eau Gallie with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Joey Captain (2), Justis Brewer, and Gama Jimenez.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Sebastian River). They walked away with a 3-1 win over Treasure Coast on Monday. The score was all tied up 1-1 at the break, but Sebastian River were the better team in the second half.

Merritt Island's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Sebastian River, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2-2.
