Football Game Preview: William Floyd Colonials vs. Longwood Lions + Official Tickets

William Floyd is a perfect 10-0 against Longwood since September of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Colonials will challenge the Lions at 12:00 p.m. William Floyd will come into the contest with an undefeated record on the line.

William Floyd is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They were the clear victors by a 34-14 margin over Sachem East. Considering the Colonials have won six games by more than 19 points this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Jaquan Thomas continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 147 yards and a pair of scores on only nine carries. Thomas is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 128 every time he's taken the field this season. Derek Glock also deserves a mention for his punt return touchdown.

Special teams also deserves some recognition, posting 16 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Glock, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown. Another bright spot was a punt return touchdown from him.

William Floyd's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB five times. In that department, Jake Rivera was the leader with three sacks. William Floyd got some further help from David Gonzalez: he made 15 total tackles (1.0 for loss).

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Longwood duked it out with Walt Whitman on Friday. The Lions came out on top against the Wildcats by a score of 22-14.

Longwood now has a winning record of 5-4. As for William Floyd, their victory bumped their record up to 9-0.

William Floyd skirted past Longwood 21-18 in their previous meeting back in October. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Colonials since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
