Basketball Game Preview: Mission Hills Grizzlies vs. Mt. Carmel Sundevils

The Mission Hills Grizzlies will head out to challenge the Mt. Carmel Sundevils at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mission Hills will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

On Friday, Mission Hills earned a 54-46 win over Vista.

Meanwhile, Mt. Carmel unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Wednesday. They received a blow as they fell 72-55 to Torrey Pines. While losing is never fun, the Sundevils can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 721st, while the Falcons are ranked 66th).

Mission Hills will need focus on slowing down Blaine Raagas, one of several Mt. Carmel players who made an impact when they last played. He went 5 of 8 en route to 12 points and six assists. The dominant performance gave Raagas a new career-high in assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Humphrey, who posted nine points along with eight rebounds and three blocks.

Mission Hills' victory bumped their record up to 11-6. As for Mt. Carmel, their loss dropped their record down to 5-13.

Mission Hills strolled past Mt. Carmel in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 by a score of 58-39. Will Mission Hills repeat their success, or does Mt. Carmel have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
