Preview: Heritage Huskies vs. Wake Forest Cougars
The Heritage Huskies will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Wake Forest Cougars at 7:45 p.m. Hopefully Heritage focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Friday.
Heritage posted their closest win since December 12, 2023 on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Knightdale and snuck past 53-50. The victory was just what Heritage needed coming off of a 87-51 defeat in their prior matchup.
Heritage's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ryder Strand, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds. KJ Cox was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with seven rebounds and two blocks.
Meanwhile, Wake Forest's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They suffered a tough 66-43 loss at the hands of Wakefield. While losing is never fun, Wake Forest can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 514th, while Wakefield is ranked 37th).
Heritage's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-6. As for Wake Forest, their loss dropped their record down to 1-15.
