Volleyball Game Preview: Eunice Cardinals vs. Jal Panthers

The Eunice Cardinals will challenge the Jal Panthers at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Eunice is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Texico just ended the team's four-match winning streak on Tuesday. They lost 3-0 to the Wolverines.

Eunice took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-10, 25-14, 25-16.

Meanwhile, Jal made easy work of Loving on Tuesday and carried off a 3-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Falcons: they've now won six in a row.

The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-16, 25-11.

Jal's win bumped their record up to 9-7. As for Eunice, their loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 8-8.

Eunice couldn't quite get it done against Jal when the teams last played back in September as they fell 3-1. Can the Cardinals avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
