Volleyball Recap: Westbury Takes a Loss

If Westbury was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Sterling last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Huskies lost 3-0 to the Galena Park Yellowjackets on Wednesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Huskies of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-9, 25-13, 25-10.

Westbury's defeat was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Galena Park, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-12 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Westbury is set to square off against their familiar foe Milby at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Galena Park will take on rival Carnegie Vanguard at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
