Football Preview: Fruitvale Bobcats vs. Avalon Eagles
The Fruitvale Bobcats will look to take advantage of their home-field for the first time this season as they take on the Avalon Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
Fruitvale is headed into their home opener looking to turn things around after opening their season on the road. They took a hard 42-26 fall against Apple Springs on Friday.
Meanwhile, Avalon took care of business in their home opener on Thursday (and then some). They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Gholson 46-0 at home.
Josh Novak was a one-man wrecking crew for Avalon as he rushed for 140 yards and three touchdowns on only 11 carries, and also threw for 77 yards and two touchdowns on only six passes. Novak's also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making five total tackles and defending a pass in addition to snagging an interception.
Avalon wouldn't let Gholson keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force two fumbles. Jesus Aguilar was the leader in that area as all came courtesy of his dominant performance. He also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, forcing two fumbles and making seven total tackles.
