Basketball Game Preview: Princeton Bulldogs vs. Beddingfield Bruins

The Princeton Bulldogs will head out to face off against the Beddingfield Bruins at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Princeton has now lost eight straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since January 7.

Last Friday, Princeton came up short against Spring Creek and fell 70-59.

Despite the defeat, Princeton saw an underclassman step up: freshman Teo McPhatter went 8 for 15 en route to 17 points and three steals. Thanks to that strong game, McPhatter now owns an excellent 45.4% shooting accuracy. Another player making a difference was Garrett Lane, who posted 13 points.

Even though they lost, Princeton smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in six consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, Beddingfield also suffered a loss in their last game, but this one to Eastern Wayne by a score of 64-52. While losing is never fun, the Bruins can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 384th, while the Warriors are ranked 156th).

Princeton's record now sits at 6-16. As for Beddingfield, their record now sits at 8-11.

Princeton couldn't quite finish off Beddingfield in their previous matchup on Monday and fell 54-52. Can Princeton avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
