Volleyball Recap: Roanoke Rapids Takes a Loss

Roanoke Rapids was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Wake Prep Academy Guardians.

The final score came out to 25-18, 25-19, 25-9.

Matti Cutchin paced Roanoke Rapids' offense, picking up eight kills. Cutchin got some help from Emilee Campbell and her eight assists. Finally, Cutchin was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high seven blocks.

Roanoke Rapids' loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Wake Prep Academy, their win bumped their record up to 10-1.

Roanoke Rapids has already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Rocky Mount on the 15th. As for Wake Prep Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-0 win against Norfolk Christian on the 13th.
