Volleyball Recap: Point Loma Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Point Loma suffered their biggest defeat since August 26th on Thursday. They came up short against the Christian Patriots, falling 3-0. The Pointers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-12, 25-18.

Despite the loss, Point Loma saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Olivia Karvelis had ten digs. Karvelis has been hot recently, having posted ten or more digs the last three times she's played. Savannah Thompson also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Point Loma's defeat dropped their record down to 10-8. As for Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Point Loma will head out to face off against Patrick Henry at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be the Pointers' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Christian, they will challenge Coronado at 6:15 p.m. on Monday.
