There wasn't a ton of movement in the power rankings this week, but there was certainly enough to keep things interesting. We'll tackle that and more in this week's report.
No Stoppin 'Em
The Huntley offense has been a force to be reckoned with this season, and last week was no different. It breezed past Crystal Lake South with a final score of 51 - 26. Huntley was heavily favored coming into this contest, and the results showcase why. At 77 total points, this was the highest scoring power ranking game of the week.
Upcoming Drama
If you are itching to watch a first-rate contest, no game is supposed to fit the bill better than the one between Bolingbrook (19th in the power rankings) and Lincoln-Way East (1st). Both teams are entering with last-week wins under their belts. Of course, Lincoln-Way East and Bolingbrook can't both win again this week, so we'll learn on Friday which team falters and which extends its success.
Big Showdown
It was a battle of top-notch squads when Loyola Academy (10th in the power rankings) took on Providence Catholic (21st) last week. Loyola Academy took its game against Providence Catholic by a confident 28 - 3 score. As a result, Loyola Academy rose one spot in the power rankings.
Welcome
Stevenson brought the heat last game after its low-scoring effort (zero points) in the match before. The final score between it and Waukegan was a 42 - 0 blowout in Stevenson's favor. At 42 points, that marked Stevenson's largest margin of victory so far this year. Thanks to its success, Stevenson cracked into the power rankings and now occupies the 25th spot.
