Basketball Recap: Linden Takes a Loss

Linden lost against Marengo two weeks ago and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Linden Patriots fell to the Marengo Panthers 43-38. While the Patriots didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Panthers 14-9 in the first quarter.

Marengo's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jordan Moore, who went 5 for 8 on his way to 14 points in addition to five assists and five boards. Moore is also crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was DeVontae Tucker, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds.

Linden's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Marengo, their win bumped their record up to 5-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Linden will host Marion at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Marengo will take on Johnson in a holiday battle at at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
