Football Recap: Central Indians vs. Liberty Blue Jays

Central lost against Liberty back in September of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Indians were beaten by the Blue Jays 63-21. The Indians were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-14.

Several Indians players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Drake Gilkison, who picked up 129 receiving yards and one touchdown. Gilkison got the majority of those receiving yards when he pulled down a pass and took off for a gain of 65 yards. Cole Hass also helped out as he racked up 110 receiving yards.

Liberty's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jace Hicks, who rushed for 136 yards and three scores on only eight carries. Colt Nolin was another key player, rushing for 134 yards and three TDs on only ten carries.

This is the second loss in a row for Central and nudges their season record down to 3-2. As for Liberty, their win was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-0.
