Flag Football Recap: Aurora West College Prep Academy Comes Up Short

The matchup between Aurora West College Prep Academy and Mountain View on Saturday hardly resembled the 1-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Spartans had to suffer through a 60-7 loss at the hands of the Mountain Lions. While losing is never fun, the Spartans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado flag football rankings (they are ranked 61st, while the Mountain Lions are ranked 15th).

Even if they lost, Aurora West College Prep Academy's defensive line still kept up the pressure with three sacks. Leading the way was Maria Gutierrez Benitez with two.

Aurora West College Prep Academy is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7. As for Mountain View, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-2.

Aurora West College Prep Academy didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 24-0 loss against Mountain Range on the 30th. As for Mountain View, they will head out to face off against Northglenn at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Mountain Lions 8.9, the Norsemen 9.1) so any points scored will be well earned.
