Football Recap: St. Francis Desales Extends Road Winning Streak to Six

St. Francis DeSales had won six straight on the road, but on Friday they bumped up to 8-2 to make it seven. They beat the Bishop Hartley Hawks by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 23-21. The Stallions have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Hawks, too.

As for Bishop Hartley, their defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 5-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss they have suffered against St. Francis DeSales since October 2, 2020.

Defeat or not, Bishop Hartley got some senior leadership from Robert Lathon and Mathew Galich. Lathon gained 222 total yards and a touchdown, while Galich threw for 296 yards and a pair of touchdowns while picking up 11.4 yards per attempt. Galich's passing game has become a key predictor of the Hawks' success: the team is 2-1 when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 3-4 otherwise.
