Softball Recap: Westwood Comes Up Short

Westwood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 19th straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the Morningside Academy Eagles, falling 18-3. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 19-0 last Thursday.

Westwood's defeat dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Morningside Academy, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 12-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Westwood will challenge Treasure Coast at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Panthers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Titans have averaged an impressive 7.5 runs per game this season. As for Morningside Academy, they will face off against Glades Day at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (the Eagles have won ten straight at home dating back to last season, while the Gators won six straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
