Preview: West Creek Coyote vs. Dickson County Cougars
The West Creek Coyote will be playing at home against the Dickson County Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Two weeks ago, West Creek got themselves on the board against Northeast, but Northeast never followed suit. They claimed a resounding 43-0 victory over the Eagles on the road. The result was nothing new for West Creek, who have now won three contests by 21 points or more so far this season.
West Creek's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB four times. The heavy lifting was done by Ryan Carver and Darrick Brown who racked up four sacks between them.
Meanwhile, Dickson County strolled past Kenwood with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 31-12. The win was just what Dickson County needed coming off of a 28-6 loss in their prior contest.
Dickson County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but McKaleb Frazier led the charge by rushing for 84 yards and two touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Malakhi J Redman, who rushed for 87 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries.
Their wins bumped West Creek to 3-5 and Dickson County to 4-4.
Things could have been worse for West Creek, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 31-12 loss to Dickson County in their previous matchup back in September of 2018. Can West Creek avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
