Football Game Preview: Langston Hughes Panthers vs. Lee County Trojans + How To Watch

Two dominant backs in Qwantavius Wiggins and Jordan Bush are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Langston Hughes Panthers will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Lee County Trojans at 7:30 p.m. One thing working in Langston Hughes' favor is that they have posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.

Langston Hughes is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 45-28 win over East Paulding. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked fourth, while the Raiders are ranked 107th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Langston Hughes had a senior duo take command as Darnell Kelly rushed for 83 yards and one touchdown on only six carries and Julian Kendrick picked up 110 receiving yards and a pair of TDs. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 60 yards.

Langston Hughes didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited East Paulding to a completion percentage of just 47.2%. That dominant aerial defense primarily came from two players: Jalen Hoskins and Dale Perry, who each logged three passes deflected. Langston Hughes hasn't an opponent to post a completion percentage of 0.52 or higher in three consecutive games.

Special teams was a major factor in the game for Langston Hughes, racking up 15 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Wiggins, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

Meanwhile, Lee County earned a 34-21 victory over Sprayberry on Friday.

Lee County's win came from a few key players Langston Hughes will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Dominique Ball, who rushed for 112 yards. Those 112 rushing yards gave him a new career-high.

Lee County has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 39.8 points over those games. As for Langston Hughes, their victory bumped their record up to 11-0.
