Basketball Recap: Greater Cabarrus S Wins Going Away Against South Charlotte

Greater Cabarrus S hadn't done well against South Charlotte recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Greater Cabarrus S Stallions enjoyed a cozy 61-47 win over the South Charlotte Thunder. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Stallions also won the last time the pair played back in February.

Ashton Arrowood was his usual excellent self, putting up 23 points. Another player making a difference was Cody Pearson, who posted 12 points.

South Charlotte lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Luke Ball, who put up 13 points and eight rebounds. Those eight boards gave Ball a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Kern, who had 11 points.

Greater Cabarrus S is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.0 points per game. As for South Charlotte, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-8.

Greater Cabarrus S will host NC H at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. NC H knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matchups -- so hopefully Greater Cabarrus S likes a good challenge. As for South Charlotte, they will square off against Forsyth Home Educators at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
