Baseball Recap: Liberty Wins Going Away Against Antioch

It was a proper cat-fight when Liberty took on Antioch on Thursday. The Lions blew past the Panthers 12-1. The Lions haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

The team relied heavily on Trace Hoover, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high. Sean Kelly was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

Liberty's record now sits at 9-5. As for Antioch, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season.

Liberty is taking a road trip to square off against Granada at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Matadors will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Lions surely won't give up without a fight. As for Antioch, they will welcome Freedom at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Falcons' pitching crew has only allowed 2.7 runs per game this season, so the Panthers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
