Basketball Recap: West Fork Takes a Loss

West Fork lost against Valley Springs back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The West Fork Tigers opened the new year with a less-than-successful 51-40 defeat to the Valley Springs Tigers. While losing is never fun, West Fork can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 192nd, while Valley Springs is ranked 18th).

This is the second loss in a row for West Fork and nudges their season record down to 4-7. As for Valley Springs, they pushed their record up to 18-3 with the win, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season.

West Fork didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 57-37 loss against Jasper on the 4th. Valley Springs has also already played their next game, a 71-28 victory against Norfork on the 3rd.
