Volleyball Recap: Bowman Academy Takes a Loss

Bowman Academy lost against Marquette Catholic back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Eagles lost 3-0 to the Blazers. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-2, 25-9, 25-9.

Marquette Catholic's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Leighton Kurtich, who had eight aces. Those eight aces gave Kurtich a new career-high. Olivia Zmuda was another key player, getting 16 aces and eight digs.

Bowman Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Marquette Catholic, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 7-3.

Looking ahead, Bowman Academy will challenge River Forest at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Marquette Catholic, they will take on Hobart at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
