Volleyball Recap: Wheeler Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Wheeler can now relate to. They lost 3-0 to the Ingomar Falcons on Tuesday. The Eagles' defeat signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

The match finished with set scores of 25-8, 25-18, 25-10.

Marli Shockley paced Wheeler's offense, picking up three kills. Shockley got some help from Marlee Hutcheson and her four assists. Shockley was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Ingomar got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Abby Miller out in front who had 25 assists. Daylen Grisham was another key player, getting four aces and one block.

Wheeler's loss dropped their record down to 15-11. As for Ingomar, the victory was the 17th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 30-4-1.

Wheeler does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Ingomar, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against West Union on the 9th.
