Softball Recap: Notre Dame-Green Pond Picks Up Fifth Straight Win at Home

Notre Dame-Green Pond barely beat Northern Lehigh the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Notre Dame-Green Pond put the hurt on Northern Lehigh with a sharp 8-1 win on Tuesday. The Crusaders haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Rachel Fisher spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up eight Ks. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2024.

On the hitting side, Hannah Lilly was incredible, going 2-for-4 with two triples, two runs, and one RBI. Those two triples gave her a new career-high. Riley Palank was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

Notre Dame-Green Pond was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .393. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Northern Lehigh only posted a batting average of .125.

Notre Dame-Green Pond's win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-0. As for Northern Lehigh, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Looking ahead, Notre Dame-Green Pond is taking a road trip to face off against Bangor at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Northern Lehigh, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Wilson Area at 4:00 p.m.
