Basketball Recap: Berthoud Spartans vs. Thompson Valley Eagles
Berthoud was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 57-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Thompson Valley Eagles. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Spartans of the 50-28 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in November of 2023.

Avery Pfohl and Sofia Sigg certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Pfohl posted 18 points along with seven rebounds and three blocks, while Sigg went 5 for 11 on her way to 13 points and four steals. Sigg is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played.
Thompson Valley's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jesika Hopkins, who went 5 of 6 en route to 13 points and three steals. Justee Durtsche was another key player, putting up 14 points and eight boards.
Berthoud's loss dropped their record down to 9-3. As for Thompson Valley, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-2.
Berthoud wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 65-54 defeat against Roosevelt on the 17th. As for Thompson Valley, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 53-40 loss against Timnath on the 17th.
