Preview: Holy Family Tigers vs. Greeley West Spartans
Holy Family is 3-0 against Greeley West since January of 2022, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Holy Family Tigers will be playing at home against the Greeley West Spartans at 5:30 p.m. Holy Family will be looking to keep their 11-game home win streak alive.
Last Friday, Holy Family faced Mead in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Holy Family fell to Mead 51-46. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Holy Family has scored all season.
Despite their defeat, Holy Family saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Sawyer Dana, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds and four steals, was perhaps the best of all. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Dana has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Gracie Ward, who scored 14 points.
Meanwhile, Greeley West's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They were dealt a 57-26 defeat at the hands of Longmont. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Greeley West in their matchups with Longmont: they've now lost four in a row.
Holy Family's defeat ended a eight-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-1. As for Greeley West, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-10 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Holy Family against Greeley West in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 as the team secured a 54-6 win. With Holy Family ahead 35-4 at the half, the match was all but over already.
