Kearney Catholic and Concordia are an even 3-3 against one another since April of 2017, but likely not for long. The Stars will be taking part in a tournament against the Mustangs at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. Kearney Catholic will be strutting in after a win while Concordia will be coming in after a loss.

Kearney Catholic gave up the first goal on Thursday, but they didn't let that get them down. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Grand Island 2-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for Kearney Catholic.

Katelynn Kaiser and Payton Dzingle scored both of Kearney Catholic's goals, bringing their combined season tally to three goals.

Meanwhile, while it was all tied up 0-0 at halftime, Concordia was not quite Mercy's equal in the second half on Thursday. They came up short against the Monarchs, falling 5-0. Concordia haven't had much luck with Mercy recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

Kearney Catholic now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Concordia, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.
