Recap: Rock Ridge Phoenix vs. Park View Patriots
After losing to the Park View Patriots the last time they met, the Rock Ridge Phoenix decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Rock Ridge enjoyed a cozy 43-26 victory over Park View on Monday. The win made it back-to-back wins for Rock Ridge.
Park View's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Anna Helstrom, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds. Helstrom scored a full 57.7% of Park View's points, the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyra Hurley, who scored six points along with five steals.
Park View struggled to work together and finished the game with only an assist. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Rock Ridge's victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Park View, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-1.
Rock Ridge will head out on the road to face off against Stone Bridge at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Park View, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Unity Reed at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
