Football Game Preview: Spring Lions vs. Aldine Mustangs + How To Watch

Spring is a perfect 9-0 against Aldine since October of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Lions will venture away from home to challenge the Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. Spring has given up an average of 35.8 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Spring is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Nimitz on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Lions came up short against the Cougars, falling 34-14. The Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Spring had strong showings from Landon Hathcock, who rushed for 20 yards and a pair of TDs, and Vincent Lee, who rushed for 132 yards.

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Aldine's offense. They were outmatched by Eisenhower and fell 50-0.

Aldine's defeat dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Spring, their loss dropped their record down to 1-8.

Everything came up roses for Spring against Aldine when the teams last played back in November of 2024, as the squad secured a 42-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lions since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
