Softball Recap: Make It Six in a Row for Eagle Rock

Eagle Rock had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.6 runs) and they went ahead and made it six on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Franklin Panthers. Considering the Eagles have won four games by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Marcella Terrazas made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off eight hits (and not a single walk). Those 11 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three RBI.

In other batting news, Melissa Terrazas was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-5. Alyssa Jaramillo was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

Eagle Rock's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-5. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Franklin, their loss dropped their record down to 4-3.

Coincidentally, Eagle Rock and Franklin will both be playing Lincoln the next time they take the field. The Eagles will head out to face the Tigers at 2:15 p.m. on the 21st, while the Panthers will head out to face them at 2:15 p.m. on the 23rd.
