Softball Recap: Six Straight Home Victories for Saint Francis

Saint Francis was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Los Gatos on Saturday. The Lancers were the clear victors by a 7-0 margin over the Wildcats. The Lancers haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Maya Yumiba was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and one RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. May Meltz was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two runs.

Saint Francis was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .407. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Los Gatos only posted a batting average of .042.

Saint Francis' victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 25-3. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Los Gatos, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 18-8-1.

As of now, neither Saint Francis nor the Wildcats have any future games scheduled.
