Softball Recap: Bartlett Panthers vs. Arlington Tigers
Bartlett had lost three straight at home, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 7-9 to make it four. They fell 9-6 to the Arlington Tigers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 19-8 on Monday.
Codie Rae Walter and Brenlee Suarez stepped up to the plate in a big way. Walter went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run, while Suarez went 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.
As for Arlington, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games.
On Arlington's side, Abigail Nabors spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and four unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up six Ks.
On the hitting side, Brooklyn Juarez was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Juleann Roberts, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with one run and one RBI.
