Basketball Game Preview: New Knoxville Rangers vs. Minster Wildcats

New Knoxville is 1-8 against Minster since February of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The New Knoxville Rangers will host the Minster Wildcats at 7:30 p.m.

New Knoxville is headed into Friday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their ninth straight game on Tuesday. They took a 33-20 hit to the loss column at the hands of Fort Loramie.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Minster challenged Jackson Center on Saturday. Minster strolled past Jackson Center with points to spare, taking the game 67-49. The Wildcats pushed the score to 55-28 by the end of the third, a deficit the Tigers cut but never quite recovered from.

Minster is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.4 points per game. As for New Knoxville, their loss dropped their record down to 4-14.

New Knoxville took a serious blow against Minster in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, falling 74-45. Can New Knoxville avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
