Football Recap: Cocoa Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Cocoa was the 51-0 winner over Mainland when they last played one another back in August of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Tigers fell 19-14 to the Buccaneers on Friday. While the Tigers had to settle for second, they closed the game well in the third quarter, where they outscored the Buccaneers 7-0.

When it comes to explaining why Cocoa lost, don't look at Tank White. Despite the final result, he picked up 103 receiving yards and a pair of scores. Champ Smith was another key player, having thrown for 280 yards and onetouchdown.

Sebastian Johnson was nothing short of spectacular for Mainland: he threw for 270 yards and three TDs. Braylyn Simmons was Johnson's top target, picking up 21 receiving yards.

Cocoa's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Cocoa has already played their next contest, a 38-3 loss against Vero Beach on the 5th. As for Mainland, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 28-7 win against Flagler Palm Coast on the 5th.
