Basketball Game Preview: Highlands Scots vs. Stockton Christian Eagles

Having just played yesterday, the Highlands Scots will head out on the road to face off against the Stockton Christian Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Highlands' tournament run continued when they took on Elliot Christian on Friday. The Scots blew past the Eagles 102-37. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Scots.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Highlands to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jaxson Johnson, who shot 4-for-7 from beyond the arc and dropped a double-double with 16 points and 11 assists. Those 11 assists gave Johnson a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Thomas Powell, who went 8-for-10 en route to 22 points and seven rebounds.

Meanwhile, it was a Battle of the Birds when Stockton Christian challenged Forest Lake Christian on Friday. The Eagles walked away with a 50-43 victory over the Falcons. The Eagles have beaten the Falcons the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Falcons has come to flipping the script.

Highlands now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Stockton Christian, their record is now 3-1.
