Recap: King's Academy Knights vs. St. Francis Golden Knights
It was a good run, but the King's Academy Knights unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell 52-44 to St. Francis. While losing is never fun, King's Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 298th, while St. Francis is ranked 58th).
King's Academy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Xavier Barnett, who scored 13 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals. Barnett scored a full 29.5% of King's Academy's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Caedmon Dickson, who scored 11 points along with 4 steals.
King's Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 3-1. As for St. Francis, they have yet to lose a match on the road this season, leaving them with a 8-1 record.
King's Academy will take on Branham at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Branham has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 409 points over their last six contests. St. Francis will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Valley Christian at 6:00 p.m. on December 15th.
