Volleyball Game Preview: The Vanguard School Coursers vs. Alameda Pirates

The Vanguard School Coursers will head out on the road to square off against the Alameda Pirates at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams are strolling into their matches after big wins in their previous games.

The Vanguard School not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since April 9th (when they won 3-0). They blew past James Irwin 3-0. The Coursers haven't had any issues with the Jaguars recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

The Vanguard School never let James Irwin on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-23, 25-17.

Sam Piedad was nothing short of spectacular: he had 26 digs and one assist. That's the most digs he has posted over his last six games.

Meanwhile, Alameda made easy work of Addenbrooke Classical Academy on Friday and carried off a 3-0 win.

The victory didn't come easy: Addenbrooke Classical Academy scored at least 20 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-20, 25-22.

Alameda's win bumped their record up to 8-10. As for The Vanguard School, their victory bumped their record up to 9-13.
