Basketball Recap: Combine Academy Regional Comes Up Short

Combine Academy Regional suffered their closest loss since November 21, 2024 on Saturday. They fell just short of the Community Christian Cyclones by a score of 60-57. The Goats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Community Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jack Beamon, who dropped a double-double with 17 points and 18 boards. Beamon is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last 14 games he's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Evan Gattis, who shot 47% from the field to rack up 20 points.

Combine Academy Regional's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Community Christian, the victory (which was their seventh in a row dating back to last season) raised their record to 2-0.

Coming up, Combine Academy Regional will head out to square off against Tri-Cities Christian at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Community Christian, they will be playing at home against Wayne Country Day at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
