Meanwhile, Lago Vista came up short against Jarrell on Friday and fell 35-28. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 438th, while the Cougars are ranked 190th).

Gonzales' victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Lago Vista, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-3.
