Basketball Recap: Parkview Christian Academy Falcons vs. Marquette Crusaders
The Parkview Christian Academy Falcons's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight loss. They were beaten by Marquette 62-35. While losing is never fun, Parkview Christian Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 654th, while the Crusaders are ranked 281st).
Despite the loss, Parkview Christian Academy still got an impressive performance from Caleb Van Denend, who scored ten points along with four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Van Denend has scored all season.
Parkview Christian Academy dropped their record down to 7-17 with that loss, which was their 19th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Marquette, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matches, which provided a massive bump to their 16-7 record this season.
Parkview Christian Academy will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Conquerors at 7:30 p.m. As for Marquette, they will head out on the road to challenge the Panthers at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.
