Soccer Game Preview: Gonzales vs. Ceiba College Preparatory Academy

The Gonzales Spartans will square off against the Ceiba College Preparatory Academy Spartans at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Gonzales is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games.

Ceiba College Preparatory Academy better have a healthy lead at halftime, because if last week is any indication, that's when Gonzales really get things going. Gonzales never let Monte Vista Christian onto the board and left with a 3-0 win on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Spartans, who have now won six games by three goals or more so far this season.

Edgar Santiago and Ulisses Mancillas scored all three of Gonzales' goals, bringing their combined season tally to 15 goals.

Meanwhile, after soaring to four goals the game before, Ceiba College Preparatory Academy was a bit more limited in their matchup on Tuesday. They lost 5-0 to Soledad. The Spartans' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Gonzales is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 24 goals over those eight games. As for Ceiba College Preparatory Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 4-9-1.

Everything went Gonzales' way against Ceiba College Preparatory Academy when the teams last played on January 10th, as Gonzales made off with a 3-0 victory.
