Softball Game Preview: Montevallo Bulldogs vs. Clay-Chalkville Cougars

The Montevallo Bulldogs will face off against the Clay-Chalkville Cougars at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.

While Montevallo's win against Dora wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Montevallo sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 11-9 victory over Dora on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Clay-Chalkville started off well but failed to capitalize on an early lead against Shades Valley. They fell just short of the Mounties by a score of 11-10 on Tuesday. While the Cougars didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Mounties 5-0 in the first period.

Montevallo now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Clay-Chalkville, their loss dropped their record down to 6-2-1.

Montevallo was able to grind out a solid win over Clay-Chalkville when the teams last played back in March of 2015, winning 6-2. Does Montevallo have another victory up their sleeve, or will Clay-Chalkville turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
