Volleyball Recap: Newton (Home School) Now 6-2 over Last Eight Games

After losing to Smoky Valley Home Educators the last time they met, Newton (Home School) decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Mustangs put the hurt on Smoky Valley Home Educators with a sharp 3-0 victory on Tuesday. The game was the first time the Mustangs have beaten Smoky Valley Home Educators on their court since September 7, 2024.

Newton (Home School)'s got stronger as the match went on, holding Smoky Valley Home Educators to fewer and fewer points set over set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-20, 25-15.

Kasodi Schroeder paced Newton (Home School)'s offense, picking up 16 kills. Schroeder got some help from Hannah Hoelscher and her 16 assists. Hoelscher was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

Newton (Home School) is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season. As for Smoky Valley Home Educators, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Newton (Home School) will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on St. Xavier on October 6. Smoky Valley Home Educators does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
