Basketball Recap: Sunshine Bible Academy Comes Up Short

Sunshine Bible Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost to the Wessington Springs Spartans at home by a 57-39 margin. The Crusaders lost against the Spartans in their previous head to head back in January of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 71-19 score last time.

Despite the loss, Sunshine Bible Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jerome Big Eagle almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine rebounds. Owan Watson was another key player, putting up five points and eight boards.

Sunshine Bible Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Wessington Springs, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-1.

Sunshine Bible Academy will take on Lower Brule at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Wessington Springs, they and Ethan will face off at 8:00 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played.
