Shamar Mcclendon went 5 for 6 on his way to 13 points and seven boards, good enough for us to rate the performance as the best he's had all season long. Perhaps even more impressive was his lead-up to Tuesday's match, in which he outscored his previous point total for three consecutive games. For the year, he has averaged 7.7 points, 1.7 steals, and 7.1 rebounds.

Mcclendon and Putnam County will be playing at home against Jasper County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The War Eagles got just the result they wanted when they last faced the Hurricanes, probably because Mcclendon had a solid game then too: he almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine boards.
