Volleyball Recap: Karly Davenport Key Part of Team Effort in Explorers Win + How To Watch

Marquette Catholic won the last time they faced Metro-East Lutheran and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Explorers walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Knights.

While Marquette Catholic won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-15.

Marquette Catholic's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Karly Davenport, who had six kills, five blocks, and four digs. Those five blocks gave Davenport a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Morgan Rister, who had 18 digs.

Marquette Catholic's victory bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Metro-East Lutheran, they are on a 13-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-11.

Coming up, Marquette Catholic will challenge Maryville Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Metro-East Lutheran, they will face off against Granite City at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
