Basketball Recap: Riverview Starts Season with Victory Against Morgan + How To Watch

Riverview took care of business in their home opener on Tuesday. They managed a 39-35 victory over the Morgan Mustangs.

Riverview was led to victory by Mikaylah Birch and Aaliyah Souffront. Birch shot 47% from the field to rack up 15 points along with seven boards and three steals, while Souffront almost dropped a double-double with 13 points and nine rebounds. Birch is on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as she's posted one of at least 47% in the last three games she's played dating back to last season.

Morgan lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Ariya Charles, who went 5-for-9 on her way to 11 points and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Kimora Booker, who posted seven points and seven boards.

Riverview has already played their next game, a 48-20 win against Middleton on the 19th. As for Morgan, they will take on Spoto at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
