Football Game Preview: Dayton Pirates vs. Scio Loggers

The Dayton Pirates will take on the Scio Loggers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Dayton will come into the game with an undefeated record on the line.

Dayton is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Salem Academy, posting a 43-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Pirates, who have now won four matchups by 27 points or more so far this season.

Special teams played a big role in the game for Dayton, adding 11 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Makoy Fleeman, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

Meanwhile, Scio was beaten by Taft 49-13 on Friday. The contest marked the Loggers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Dayton's win bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Scio, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-3.

Everything came up roses for Dayton against Scio when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 45-8 victory. Do the Pirates have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Loggers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
